A Gardener In Our School Yard
Mr. Yao is an over sixty-year-old man, a little thin but optimistic,humorous and  hard-working man with great contribution to greening the school garden,whose laughter is always heard all over the yard.
In spring, when everything begins to come to life,Mr. Yao is always seen busy working on the the soil in the garden from morning to evening,plaughing and fertilizing the field and then planting the trees and flowers or sowing the flower seeds.When they come up,he is always removing the weeds and pruning the trees and flowers.So in the late spring,most flowers are in blossom.
In summer,the whole school yard is green .the colorful flowers smell sweet and the beautiful scenery trees are charming.However Mr.Yao is always shuttling back and forth the garden,irrigating the field or watering the flowers and trees.He is often seen doing such work in the sun even at noon,with an old straw hat and his trousers up to his lap,without his lunch..
In autumn,when it rains,he is always dredging the waterway to the field in the heavy rain.When some flowers wither or die,he is always removing them in time and replanting others which is suitable to growing in autumn, especailly different kinds of chrysanthemum(菊花) and India canna(美人蕉) , which are so beautiful that every teacher and student has to stop to enjoy them that much whenever they pass the garden. In the late autumn, he irrigates the field again.
In the early winter, he begins to prune the scenery trees once again and covers with soil some flowers which will be freezed to death. Always, he eliminates dead leaves , levels land.When it snows,he always clears up the paths and uses the snow cover to irrigate the garden to make the soil ready for the next year.
Above all, while he is working, he often laughs and sings, even sometimes tells jokes to the teachers or the students.It seems that he never knows what tiredness is. Such is Mr.Yao, a simple man with great achievements in greening our school yard!
